Holiday Baking Championship

Season 9

WINNER!

The rollercoaster of filming and trauma bonding with fellow contestants was one of the most uniquely challenging and special experiences of my entire life.

Then 5 months of silence, followed by the RUSH of finally sharing the secret and the anticipation, dread and extreme excitement leading up to the premiere. As each new preview, clip, and social media post from food network and the judges would appear we were a frenzy of chatter eagerly awaiting the moment of our TV premiere.

Once the episodes started airing it became even more of a whirlwind! Trying to keep up with the normal holdiay rush at work and incorporating as many features from the show was exciting chaos like I have never experienced.

I am forever grateful for the opportunity to shine on national TV, and the extreme level of support from my husband, coworkers, company, friends, family, and the entire coastal Delaware community.

Above all the friendship developed with my fellow competitors along the way is something i will cherish for the rest of my life.

I never could have imagined the wave of positive energy coming my way, above all from a simple special moment with Chef Carla. @carlaphall The #drunicorn nickname has become part of who I am. It embodies the JOY I feel for what I do everyday and my desire to inspire and motivate others to be all they can be and do it with their own unique flair and style.

I have never been more grateful and excited for all I have AND what’s coming next!

My winning pie was featured in Food Network Magazine!

Christmas Margarita Tart

My Christmas Margarita Tart was a twist on one of the most popular desserts from my time at @sodelconceptsde , one of my very first creations from when I started in 2018, the SoDel Lime Pie, which was named the BEST PIE in the state by People Magazine in 2019! @bluecoastseafoodgrill @mattsfishcamp

So when we were presented with the south western Christmas succulent tart challenge, I knew it was the perfect time to pull out this recipe.

I was really missing my husband Chase at this point in the competition and so I added a holiday twist to this already boozy tart to capture the magical memory of our wedding in Cabo and the Holiday Margarita Tart was born! @hiltonloscabos @chefmaulo

What didn’t make the episode was my tearful confession to the judges that I really just wanted to make Chase proud. All 3 of them were so supportive and confirmed that not only were they sure Chase would be proud but that THEY were all so proud of me too and how much they enjoyed watching me grow and develop my confidence throughout the competition. @carlaphall @fullerfarmer @duffgoldman @jessepalmer

It’s a thrill and an honor to have an incredible dessert photo and recipe in the magazine, that includes the heart design I did for Chase, a lovely caption mentioning my first Chef mentor @glendaadk , the relationship that developed with the judges throughout the competition, and CHASE… my inspiration and support for everything in life.
