The Delaware chef winner of the Food Network's 2022 "Holiday Baking Championship" will discuss baking and more with the author of a new pie cookbook during an open-to-the-public Monday, Aug. 14, event in Lewes.

Henry Bennett of Bennett Orchards and Dru Tevis, SoDel Concepts corporate pastry chef, teamed up July 22 for the fourth year to highlight peaches under the demonstration tent at the Historic Lewes Farmers Market.

The Current sits down with “Food Network’s Holiday Baking Championship” winner and corporate pastry chef, Dru Tevis.

Students at the Food Bank of Delaware Culinary School learned to make donuts from scratch at the hands of champion pastry chef Dru Tevis recently. Tevis, corporate pastry chef at SoDel Concepts, demonstrated how to create taste-tempting treats while answering questions from students.

The 45th annual Point-to-Point trots back to Winterthur with lots of festivities in its stable on Sunday, May 7, including a tailgate competition judged by a local Food Network celebrity.   

DELAWARE – A local pastry chef recently gained national attention after his appearance on a popular food network show. Now his life after the show is inspiring others to step up their game too.

Dessert sales have been on the rise in the last month at some of the 15 restaurants in Sussex County owned by the SoDel Concepts Hospitality Group.

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - Dru Tevis, Corporate Pastry Chef for SoDel Concepts, has won Food Network's Holiday Baking Championship 2022- something he's had to keep secret for six months.

A Delaware pastry chef is seeing sweet success on the Food Network. Dru Tevis, SoDel Concepts’ corporate pastry chef, is currently competing on Food Network’s Holiday Baking Championship. The competition series airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. wrapping up with the finale on Dec. 19.  

When we last left Delaware’s “Dru-nicorn,” he made it through the second episode of “Holiday Banking Championship” on the Food Network.

But could Dru Tevis survive another round?

Dru Tevis is typically a man with a plan. “When I was in school, I handed in term papers early,” explained the Rehoboth Beach resident. “I studied for all my tests — nothing was ever done at the last minute.”

The Delaware beaches' culinary prowess will be represented nationwide in November, with two Rehoboth Beach-area chefs set to appear on television shows.

Delaware pastry chef Dru Tevis will duke it out with his peers on Food Network’s “Holiday Baking Championship,” premiering at 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 7.

Local restaurateurs Megan Kee and Dru Tevis were recognized among the state’s Rising Stars at the Delaware Restaurant Association’s 19th Annual Restaurant Industry Cornerstone Awards held Oct. 18 at the Lighthouse Cove Event Center in Dewey Beach.

The Delaware Restaurant Association (DRA) will host the 19th Annual Restaurant Industry Cornerstone Awards on Monday, Oct. 18, at the Lighthouse Cove Events Center in Dewey Beach, with an after-party immediately following at The Lighthouse.
